The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championship – Season 7 will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey in June
The 7 Rocket League Championship (RLCS) world championship series will be held in Newark, New Jersey, in June.
The event will feature a different tournament format and will include teams from the newly added South American region.
RLCS Season 7, which started last weekend, has a prize pool of $ 1M USD and the final event will take place from 21 to 23 June.
It is the second time that the final phase of a world championship takes place in the United States, after the sixth season of the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas last November.
Two other teams will compete at the world championship this season, thanks to the addition of the South American region, bringing the total to 12. By virtue of this graft, and therefore the increase in teams present at the final stage, the organizers have decided to abandon the classic double elimination formula, preferring the direct elimination solution.
Rocket League Championship Las Vegas 2019
The RLCS season 7 regular season season started this weekend and will last five weeks, with a total prize pool of over $ 1 million. Psyonix has not yet revealed how much of this sum will be awarded at the World Championships.
In addition to the new region, Season 7 represents the beginning of a new Psyonix partnership with ELEAGUE, owner of Turner Sports who manages sponsorships and marketing for RLCS. Furthermore, ELEAGUE will produce a TV series based on the RLCS season.
